Melting Hearts

It was a rumor mostly. That the Prince had no heart, that he cared very little for the goings on of the Kingdom and even less for the romance that he was expected to enter into. He would keep to himself in his home, with his books and his music. It was rare that he made an appearance in the Kingdom. Only when he had to. And the look on his face. He was disinterested, detached. Perhaps the rumors were true. Perhaps the Prince's heart was made of ice.

But how would it melt?

Perhaps it was like the fairy tales, the Prince's one true love would need to come melt his heart. But how was that possible when the Prince didn't care for anyone? When he didn't let anyone close, let anyone near. He remained with his books and music. It was easier.

But that was going to change one day when the King decided his only son needed a companion. Someone who was a bodyguard and the potential for a friend, all in one.
